My New Favorite Poem

I've seen this poem a few times and I've always loved it but now that we're expecting little Grayson in February, it takes on a completely new meaning.

A Child's Angel

Once upon a time there was a child ready to be born.
One day the little child asked God:
"They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?"
God answered him "Among the many angels, I chose one for you. She will be waiting for you and will take care of you."
"But tell me," asked the child, "here in Heaven, I don't do anything else but sing and smile, that's enough for me to be happy."
"Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you every day. And you will feel your angel's love and be happy." God reassured him.
"And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me, if I don't know the language that men talk?"
"Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak."
"And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you, Lord?"
"Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray."
"I've heard that on earth there are bad men. Who will protect me?"
"Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life."
"But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore."
"Your angel will always talk to you about me and will teach you the way for you to come back to me, even though I will always be next to you."
At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from earth could already beheard, and the child in a hurry asked softly
"Oh God, if I am about to leave now, please tell me my angel's name."
"You will call your angel, Mother"

We Have a Name!

I know we haven't posted in a while but we haven't had much to post! We have, however, decided on a name....... Goodbye Horton, hello Grayson Matthew Gallegly!

We've been pretty set on this name for a few months now but have held off telling people just in case we changed our minds. So, after 6 months of having not changed our minds we thought we might as well start telling people! Grayson has been kicking and flipping up a storm over the past few weeks which is, of course, always so much fun to feel. As of right now his favorite food is definitely a Wendy's frosty. Grayson is sure to get plenty of frosty's on our upcoming road trip!

This Sunday will mark our first amazing year of marriage and the beginning of our 27th week of pregnancy! To celebrate we're heading out on a road trip to visit some National Parks. We'll be going to Joshua Tree, the Grand Canyon, Kings Canyon (to see the giant Sequoya trees) and finally, to Yosemite. We'll be camping in some spots and staying in a hotel at others where the weather gets too cold at night. Camping should be interesting at 6 and a half months pregnant!
We'll be sure to post a lot of pictures once we get back.

Once we're home from our road trip, we're home for good. Traveling is definitely getting a bit more uncomfortable and I'm not too far away from the 'travel restrictions' our doctor has set. We're excited to have Janet and Jenifer out for a few days over Thanksgiving and hope to have some more visitors before our guest room becomes Grayson's room!

Our next doctors appointment is on December 1st (29 weeks and a few days) and after that we start visiting the doctor every two weeks. I absolutely cannot believe we are almost to that point! At our last doctors appointment, our Dr., Dr. Keith, had been called to the hospital so we met with his partner, Dr. Volguelpuhl. I was actually very happy to meet with Dr. Volguelpuhl as he would be the one to deliver Grayson should Dr. Keith be unavailable. We're very grateful to be at a small practice where we've had a chance to get to know all the nurses and not have to worry about meeting the Dr. who would be with us during delivery for the first time at the hospital!

We'll update and post some pictures once we're back from our trip!
